What are those “wrap-around” spaces being built at the base of the new Veterans Way parking garage?
This is a clever way to make a parking garage look less like a parking garage and more like the rest of City Center. This project is another example of mixed-use development, where we try to encourage the construction of building that serve more than just one segment of the economy.
In this case, there are two different features. On the east side of the garage, there are a handful of apartments under construction. Each apartment, according to Pedcor Companies, will include 2 floors each ranging from 1200 – 1300 sq. ft. Rents will range from $1980-$2145 and will include 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
On the west side, there are bays for future retail. Those will be added as the rest of the buildings come online in City Center and the area becomes more walkable.
