Dr. Tim Hannon is a first-term city councilor who ran for and won an at-large seat by offering a fresh perspective to city government along with extensive leadership and business experience. As an advocate for Carmel citizens he is a champion for balanced spending priorities, ethical and financial oversight, responsible growth and equitable zoning.

Dr. Hannon is an anesthesiologist with an MD from Indiana University, an MBA from Butler University, and a Graduate Certificate in Patient Safety from the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Hannon has lectured extensively and published a number of journal articles, book chapters and editorials on healthcare economics, quality and safety.

Dr. Hannon is a retired Navy Captain who served a combined 30 years of active and reserve duty. He did two tours as a flight surgeon and was combat decorated for missions flown during the Gulf War. After retiring from the Navy, CAPT Hannon continued to serve his country by working for U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters to revamp their aviation medicine waiver review process. In the proud Navy tradition, his son and daughter-in-law are now serving together on active duty.

Dr. Hannon is a serial entrepreneur who has founded several startups including a healthcare consulting and analytics company that was acquired by a publicly-traded software company. He is an active investor in a number of early-stage companies and serves as a mentor to startup founders. Continuing his mission to improve healthcare quality, safety and stewardship, Dr. Hannon founded and is CEO of Healthcare Forward, a company committed to reducing unnecessary and potentially harmful use of tests and treatments.

Dr. Hannon and his family have lived in Carmel since 1998 and are members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. He has served as a volunteer member on a number of local, state and national organizations. Among those, he was President of the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks and served for 13 years on the Audit and Finance Committees for St. Vincent Health. He is currently a board member for several healthcare companies and serves on the Indiana State Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
