Rich Taylor has been an instrumental part of making Carmel the city it is today. He has been the President of the Carmel Parks and Recreation board for the last six years, and an Executive Board member for the last 13 years prior to joining the Carmel City Council.

Taylor cultivated a passion for working with small businesses and municipalities in Carmel as a Vice President in the banking industry. He later transitioned to a career as a Vice President in construction and municipal consulting industry serving as a trusted advisor to communities throughout Indiana. His background of business lending, economic development, financing, and budget management uniquely positions him to protect Carmel taxpayers from unnecessary financial risk.

Taylor graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Management and received his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Butler. In 2010, Taylor was honored as OneZone’s Most Valuable Volunteer, and is a graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum and Hamilton County Leadership Academy. He has previously served as board President for the Rotary Club of Carmel and is a past board member of the Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation, and Indiana Center for the Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide.

Taylor and his wife, Lauren, President of Carmel-based Holder Mattress Company, have lived in Carmel for 17 years. They have two children.
