Why does the path on Main Street not extend all the way to Keystone Parkway?

The initial plan for the path along Main Street was to construct path all the way from Keystone Parkway to Gray Road. As our engineers were designing the project, it was noted that there is a historic structure (log cabin – the Kinzer Cabin) in that area which would require extra permitting processes that would have extended the timeline of the project outside of the federal finance period.

Our engineers determined that we would remove that section of path from the project and construct it after the Main Street path project was complete. Since then, we have had utility relocation issues with Duke Energy that have prevented us from filling the gap from Keystone Parkway to Cool Creek Ct.

We were planning to have this section completed last year, but we have had to put those plans on hold until we are able to resolve the relocation dispute with Duke. As soon as we come to terms with Duke this section of path will be constructed.
