Dr. Anita Joshi is a pediatrician, small business owner, and community leader who has called Carmel her home for almost two decades. Prior to her election to the West District seat, she served in leadership roles on the boards of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation, Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, and the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School Board of Trustees.
She and her family are proud members of the Hindu Temple of Central Indiana and actively participate in community service at Second Helpings soup kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, and other local non-profit organizations.
Dr. Joshi is dedicated to ensuring that Carmel remains a welcoming and desirable place to live for residents of all backgrounds. As a physician and business owner, she understands how important it is to strike a balance between good business sense and compassion. During her tenure on Carmel City Council, she is committed to work with a diverse group of constituents to build consensus and make practical, compassionate decisions that drive vibrant and sustainable growth through data-driven fiscal responsibility.
When she’s not working, Dr. Joshi loves spending quality time with her husband, children, their dog, Kulfi, and experiencing all that nature has to offer. She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves hiking, gardening, scuba diving, and travel.
Dr Joshi is an alumnus of Trinity College in Hartford CT, the University of Connecticut Medical School, and the CT Children’s Medical Center residency program. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
