We see a lot of road construction going on in Home Place. What is that all about?
The Home Place project is not really about roads, but about drainage.
The project is taking place along the Clara Knotts Regulated Drainage area, focused on an area bordered by New Jersey Street to the west, College Avenue to the east, 103rd Street to the north and 102nd Street to the south. Work is expected to continue until May, weather and utilities permitting.
New storm water pipes are being installed along several roadways including portions of Broadway Avenue, Park Avenue, 102nd and 103rd streets. All of the work is taking place in areas where utility easements exist. Intermittent, short-term roadway closures are still possible in order to install the pipes crossing the roads.
