Considering the many districts stretched across Carmel has the city considered public transportation options?
The City of Carmel’s planning and zoning personnel have been very involved in various transit studies and planning over the years.
We checked with Mayor Sue Finkam about her ideas regarding public transportation in Carmel. She would like to see continued regional conversations occur about transportation. She has concerns about the large capital outlay required for a bus rapid transit or train when driverless cars on the horizon.
The Mayor said she would support funding options that would move people throughout our community and show transit provides value, possibly starting solely with transit from Arts & Design District to Carmel Drive to the Meridian Corridor with stops along the way.
Stay tuned as this is an ongoing conversation we will have in Carmel.
