Are there any updates to the plans to expand the Carmel Clay Public Library?
The City of Carmel has very little to do with the design plans for the library’s future expansion project, unless those plans somehow have an impact any public right of way or streets. We will, of course, be helpful as the Library Board works through its options in the future.
To help get an update, we contacted Bob Swanay, Director of the Carmel Clay Public Library, who shared with us that although an overall library vision was developed in 2018, the library is not at the point where they have any definite plans yet. Part of the reason is because the library has been working on a new West Branch location at the Village of West Clay.
As the plans for the current branch at 4th and Main, look for announcements from the library about how the public can get involved. Meanwhile, this Current article may be helpful to give you an understanding of why this is happening now.
