Can HOAs and other neighborhood groups paint their own crosswalks without city approval?
It is understandable that HOA’s and other residential dwellers across the city would like to have painted crosswalks on their streets, but it would be unlawful to paint anything on public property without city approval.
So how can you get it done?
The best way to proceed is to contact your City Council member and get support for approval by the whole council to get a crosswalk painted. If you’re not sure who your Councilor is, you can check out this District Map.
